1. Well, tell that
you want to begin.
First of all, thanks for your interest in Twenty Inch Burial, we are
from Portugal, and we are rock'n'roll kids playing metal in a hardcore
band, basically, hope for better winds to come in this still cold world.
2. You have released
an split CD with PN in Underhill Records, a Spanish label. How you contacted
with Hans and Edu? do you know them in person?
No, we don't know Underhill people in person, it all happened
when we meet up for the first time Markitos, from Slidechorus, he told
us he had some friend in a label and that he was gonna show our demo
to them, and we said cool, go ahead. Later the guy (Edu) contact us
via email, that he admire our music very much, and wanna to do a split
with us, in the next month we were gonna play in Madrid and he send
some dude he knows from Madrid to see us play, that guy loved it and
we end up with Underhill.
3. Is this split
your first release?
Yes, it's our first official release, we only had a demo before.
4. You have to release
your next LP soon, with Underhill again. Talk about this.
Well, after the release of the split we told Edu, that we were
gonna make an album and we ask him what did he thought about it, he
told us that he wanna to hear the new stuff first, before he make a
commitment with us. Later on we did an ep called "The sand crystal",
we send it to him and he said: very good, lets make the album.
5. And you'll tour
in Spain and Portugal to present it. Talk about this tour.
It's gonna be our first proper tour, we gonna hit most of the
bigger places in Spain, it's gonna be from June 13 till June 24, and
its gonna be insane.
6. Talk about your
lyrics.
The lyrics talk about a bunch of issues, such as organised corruption,
religion, personal experiences lived by ourselves but most of all about
love, compassion and the inner strength that sometimes people are afraid
to reveal, because some one else's bashing you out.
7. Your style is
metal hardcore, and the lyrics of this kind of bands is pessimistic.
What is the reason of this in your opinion?
I don't think they are pessimistic in that sense, but in a way
to alert people about some very realistic shit that's going on around,
and some people just prefer to close there eyes than to face consequences,
this of course no matter issues the bands talk about.
8. In your lyrics
you are so critical with religion. Talk about your point of view.
For us religion is all a bunch of crap, they make you believe
there's something supreme, taking way all your real faith, which is
the one that you have inside you, and not some paranormal force from
beyond, in which you need to give your life for, its not by accident
that the catholic church is swimming in money and lust, OR IS IT?
9. I don't know Portuguese
metal hardcore bands (besides Renewal and you), I know more old school
bands, in the line of X-Acto. Talk about the scene in your country.
Well, to be honest with you, I cannot say that there is a REAL
scene in Portugal, because a REAL scene is not a competition, or a jealousy
way of being in music, a REAL scene is help each other out, friendship
etc., and sometimes people that have band don't realise that, but of
course that all are not like that, and we have good friends such as,
RENEWAL, SANNYASIN (ex-X-ACTO), AS GOOD AS DEAD, HELVISONFIRE, EASY
WAY, etc.
10. Talk about your
shows.
INSANE, INTENSE, CHAOTIC, CULTURAL. That's it.
11. In the split
you greet to Slide Chorus, Inside me and G.a.s. Drummers, from Spain.
Talk about this.
We know them all, they are all good friends with Twenty Inch
Burial.
12. Talk about the
fanzines and labels in your country.
There are none, not that I know.
13. Are there any
band besides T.I.B. in your lives?
Our bass player plays with AS GOOD AS DEAD.
14. That's all, you
can say that you want to finish.
Thanks for these unique opportunity, and watch us play in June
