1- Who are the idiots that are welcome?
Everyone is welcome. Warmly. ;]. The name of the band is inspired by the Woody Allen's movie "Love And Death" in which an idiot meeting takes place with huge banner saying "Welcome Idiots". If someone feels offended that's his trouble.

2- You sent me your MCD, "Idiots in split". This is a compilation of your 2 CDs, "Welcome Idiots" and "Somebody to love". Why do you release this CD? Talk about it.
This compilation includes tracks that represent our current attitude best. Neither the first nor the second CD doesn't express our intentions enough. The first release is rough, the vocals almost growl and all songs sound dirty. Shortly - noise. It was 1997 and we listened a lot of Amphetamphine Reptile Rec. (Today Is The Day, Hammerhead). 3 years later we made "Somebody to love"(the second release). The songs are different. More melodic tunes. So we decided to do a compilation to show our true live face.

3- What do you want to show with the cover of "Idiots in split"?
The face of an "idiot" is taken from old medicine book full of weirdoes of any kind. The title itself is a play on words - look closely at the cover and you'll see the town plan of Split, Croatia, where I spent a few days one summer. The idiot and the name of the band is somehow from one story, I think.

4- You say that your music is near to Amphetamine Reptile bands music and near to Neurosis... and near to Deftones too. Talk about this. Do you identify with the bands of labels like Hydrahead?
Never heard of Hydrahead, and I listened Neurosis & Deftones after being compared to them in press reviews. Amphetamine Reptile: this name appear only to give a reader some idea.

5- How do you describe your music to someone that don't understand about this kind of music?
Actually, working on each track takes a very long time and do our best to not resemble anything. You can call it noise if you want.

6- Your cds have been released by yourself. Why do you do in this way?
That's pretty simple. There are a few independent labels (almost non profit) with very small reception. Crappy pop rules in every media. So we're decided to make it on our own.

7- How is Poland to have a band like Welcome Idiots? And your city?
Lousy. We play mostly for fun but slowly increase up. We play about 15 gigs a year. Noise-core music is not so popular. In Polish underground most popular is punkrock and ska. Here in Poznan (my city - 700.000 people) most of bands play shitty Korn-like stuff.

8- Talk about Welcome Idiots lives.
Energy and love.... (he he). Invite us and you will see.

9- Have you any musical proyect besides Welcome Idiots?
Our drummer plays guitar in Krio De Morto, band belonging to esperanto scene. Both drummer & bass player were parts of the punk scene here in the 90s. I played in Sweet Noise, well-known metal band in Poland.

10- Is your website already in the net?
...........Soon. Probably http://welcomeidiots.of.pl.

11- What do you know about Spain and our music?
Spain's highest peak is in Sierra Nevada. I know Raul Gonzales, Fernando Morientes, Julio Iglesias (he used to play in Real in 50) and son, Salvador Dali, Luis "Bunuel", Paco de Lucía and flamenco. There was a band called Heroes del Silencio. I saw them in MTV a few years ago. I heard about Kortatu from land of Basks. What else... Spain always looses in football World Cup.;]. Maybe this time... E Viva stereotypes. I am planning to visit Spain on holidays to see the south of your country.

12- That's all. Thanks and say that you want to finish.
I have to go to bed now. Going to bed early is good for you. We'd be extremely glad to visit the sunny land of Spain and enjoy playing there.
